Day 6: Daintree
Yvonne and I decided to get a rental car today and go up to the rainforest. We had a lot of ideas of where we wanted to go, and not nearly enough time. I reckon when I buy I car I’m going to have to come back and spend a week camping in the rainforest. It’s too cool not to get to spend more time in. We saw some big lizards and lots of amazing plants.
In order to get to the National park you have to take a ferry across a crocodile filled river, unfortunately, they were under the water so we didn’t see any. Hopefully I’ll see some crocs soon. Looking forward to it. It was a beautiful (if windy) drive and I absolutely love traveling around it. We had a lot of fun driving and chatting and listening to some music. It was all really nice.
We visited a beautiful blue beach which was incredible. Unfortunately, this far north the beaches are not for swimming as they are filled with gators and jellies. There are vinegar bottles at every entrance to the beach to pour on people if they get stung by jellies because they didn’t listen to the signs. I reckon if you get eaten by a croc there isn’t much to do for you. Anyway, we did not go in the water, but it was beautiful
