Day 7: The lagoon
Today was a pretty chill day. I spent the morning working and eating leftovers and enjoying the view from the balcony of the hostel. It was nice and relaxing. I also made chai lattes and ate some delicious mangos from the nearby farms.
After lunch Yvonne and I went to the lagoon. The lagoon is the public pool in the center of town. It overlooks the beaches that you can’t swim in. So you can pretend you are in the ocean, but you are safe from the crocs. It’s a nice place to hang out. It’s mostly tourists, I imagine locals all have their own pools, but it makes for good people watching.
In the evening I walked over to Dean and Jenny’s hotel and we went and got a delicious dinner. Lots of good food, apps of prawns and scallops, and I got pork belly for dinner which was lovely, and then we had a mandarin overmen brûlée for dessert. It was all fabulous.
