Tasmania voyage/Ulverstone

The next morning, I headed out to Geelong where I would catch my ferry to Tasmania. I spent most of the day just kinda hanging out along the beach and take a little snooze in my car. I think the city is actually a decent sized city but everywhere I had paid park in and I just couldn’t be bothered to pay, and then have to move my car every hour so I ended up just going to the beach which was really lovely and spent most of the day hanging out before my late night ferry. I got fish and chips for dinner before heading over to the ferry around seven. The ferry itself doesn’t depart until 930 but I got there early so that I could just get on the boat and get my car loaded up on the boat and relax and get ready for the long cruise across the straight. The cruise ship I mean fairy, but really cruise ship was huge. It has 10 stories for four people and six for vehicles. The top three is where the people are large portion of them are rooms because you can rent a room for the 12 hour voyage but the room cost $180 for a shared room or $400 for a private room and the alternative is a recliner chair which I decided was how I would go. in addition to the bedrooms and the recliner room there were lots of kind of activities there were I think three separate bars where you could order basic food and drink which were expensive but not actually as expensive as I expected it to be I got alcoholic ginger beer too Pretend like I was gonna settle my stomach with alcohol which was nice. It works though because it has Ginger in it. Lol. In addition to the bars, there is a gift shop a cinema which I did not pay to watch a movie in but I think they had two movies filming. You could go see both not movies I found interesting there’s a couple arcades for kids a playroom kind of like McDonald’s used to have you with for kids yeah and just lots of seating all over the place. It was quite the ship. by the time we left Port, I had finished my drink and had some snacks and headed to my recliner and from there I put on my headphones and mask and took some seasick pills and tried to sleep. Generally I slept pretty well for quite a while woke up halfway in the ocean was pretty darn rough so I took a few more pills and passed back out which is great. They are fantastic for making you go to sleep Which was a blessing. Around seven or eight I think we made it to the port in Tasmania and it was another hour and a half I think before my car was able to get unloaded because I was on the bottom floor by 1030 I was on the road and gotten into Dean And Jenny’s friends house about 20 minutes from the ferry and they were so lovely.

They welcome to me into their home and took me around town. Help me get some brochures and a Tasmania national parks pass. We strolled about some op shops, and they have a really cool arts and crafts center in the town they live in which is great. it’s open free classes every day and then they can sell their work there too. They took me on a cruise around the countryside and we went on a short hike to a really beautiful overlook in the mountains, which was fantastic and yeah, it was just a really lovely day.

The next day, Peter and Suzanne and I headed to the beach and went on a nice long beach, walk collecting Seaglass and seashells and chatting enjoying the beautiful views in the afternoon. I met some of their grandkids and I went to basketball practice to watch one of the grandkids play, which was pretty fun , entertaining to watch for an hour. I especially loved listening to all their little Australian accents. in the evening we went for a pint on the river and watched the sunset and it was extravagantly beautiful and spent the evening having wine and chatting and just done enjoying life. I headed out the next morning fairly early Easter is a really big camping holiday and Australia and I wanted to make sure that I could get a campground before they filled up for the long holiday weekend since everyone has Friday and Monday off here, and yeah, I got a beautiful spot along the coast and looking forward to spending a few nights here in Stanley.
