Eneabba and wildflowers

Eneabba is a small mining town about 60 km inland from the coast along the edge of some very special preserves and national parks. I spent 3 nights there while visiting the nearby parks. I’d park my car and wander into the bush for entire days walking 8-15 km off trail spotting wildflowers. I found many different species of spider fairy, and cowslip orchids, along with sundews and other spring flowers. It was absolutely fabulous and tiring and wonderful. Some of my favorite days are just me wandering around looking for flowers, no wonder I chose this as a career. It may not have a lot of write about, the joys of the wander and the hunt, but it’s an absolute treasure. I find so much peace and fulfillment in it.
